“Great local mechanics! I've been here many times for various services on my car because I know they are fair, trustworthy, and highly competent. My go-to anecdote that highlights both their attention to detail and their honesty: I once brought my car in to get my brakes looked at. They easily could've said it was X problem needing Y service, and I would've paid. But they instead took time to closely inspect my brakes and even test drive the car to feel the brakes for themselves. In the end, they determined there wasn't a problem (just minor rust from lack of recent use) and only charged me a small amount for the inspection time. When I go to Tiger Garage, I know they are going to give me a true diagnosis and only charge me for what is needed--something I definitely don't feel when going to autoshop chains in the area!”

“Very friendly and accommodating. I called approximately 2 hours before my car was towed to their location and they were more than okay with it. I got a fair price on my repair and they let me leave my car for a few days after it was completed until I was able to pick it up. Very honest and friendly people!”

“Went there for a problem on our van, there was only one mechanic and he was super busy but he still took time to have a look at it and give us some advice.”

Make Overview
BMW Service & Repair at Tiger Garage
BMWs are well-engineered cars, but they require a mechanic who actually does the diagnostic work instead of guessing. At Tiger Garage on Witherspoon Street in Princeton, we inspect the car, confirm the fault, and tell you what it needs before anything gets ordered. We work on 3 Series, 5 Series, X3, and X5 models regularly, handling oil changes, brake service, electrical diagnosis, cooling system repairs, and suspension work. You get a straight answer on what your BMW needs, what it costs, and what happens if you wait on anything.
One of our regulars put it well: he brought his BMW in for brakes, and we test-drove the car and inspected everything carefully before telling him the issue was just minor surface rust from the car sitting a few days. We charged a small amount for the inspection and sent him home without replacing anything. That's what honest diagnosis looks like. We won't tell you that you need pads and rotors if your car doesn't need pads and rotors.
Every repair we do is backed by our 24-month/24,000-mile warranty. You approve the work before we start, you get the exact price you were quoted, and if something we replaced has a problem within that window, we make it right.
Common BMW Issues We Fix
BMW cooling systems give out more often than most owners expect. Plastic water pump housings, expansion tanks, and thermostat housings tend to crack somewhere in the 60,000 to 100,000-mile range. By the time you see a temperature warning, real damage can already be underway. If your BMW is in that mileage range and hasn't had cooling system attention, it's worth having us take a look before it becomes an emergency.
Oil leaks are the other thing we see consistently on BMWs. Valve cover gaskets, oil filter housing gaskets, and oil pan gaskets are the usual suspects on four-cylinder and inline-six engines. Electrical issues and sensor faults are also common, especially on older 3 Series and 5 Series models. We run a proper diagnostic to find the root cause before we recommend any repairs, so you're not paying to replace parts that weren't the problem.
