“In town small shop with never than two mechanics in the shop when I was there, but the expertise, honest sharing of information, never push you into unnecessary repairs, don't have a full time secretary so sometimes hard to get on the phone when they are busy , but don't give up on it just because of phone not being answered immdiately, integrity and workmanship more than compensate for that...that is why they are busy so allow time if you want to get things done right... Beats experience I had with any of area dilership mechanics.”

“Tiger Garage was awesome! My daughter is a college student with an older vehicle. Sun roof got stuck 1/2 open. Rick repaired it same day at a very fair price. This is a most trustworthy business.”

Make Overview

Jeep Service at Tiger Garage

We work on all the Jeep models that come through Princeton regularly: Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Cherokee, and Compass. Whether it's routine maintenance like oil changes and brake service, or something more involved like suspension work, cooling system repairs, or a check engine light that's been on for three months, we'll tell you exactly what we find before we do anything. You approve the repair, you get the price we quoted, and the work is backed by our 24-month/24,000-mile warranty.

Jeep owners around here know the dealership isn't always worth the trip and the price. The national chain shops aren't always careful with the diagnostic work either. At Tiger Garage on Witherspoon Street, you get two mechanics who have seen these vehicles and know what to look for. If a repair makes sense for your Jeep, we'll tell you why. If it doesn't, given the mileage or condition, we'll tell you that too. One of our customers brought in an older Jeep his daughter was driving at Princeton and had a sunroof stuck half open. Rick fixed it the same day at a price that made sense. That's the kind of shop we are.

Common Jeep Issues We See

Grand Cherokees and Wranglers both show up with a few recurring problems. The 3.6L Pentastar engine, which runs in most modern Grand Cherokees and Wranglers, is prone to oil leaks from the valve cover gaskets. It's a straightforward repair, but one that gets worse and messier the longer it sits. We also see coolant leaks from the water pump and thermostat housing on higher-mileage Pentastars, so if your temperature gauge is acting up, get it in before it becomes a bigger problem.

Suspension wear is another thing we stay busy with on Jeeps. The Grand Cherokee's front suspension takes a beating on New Jersey roads, and worn ball joints, control arm bushings, and sway bar end links are common complaints. If your Jeep is clunking over bumps or feels loose on the highway, a suspension inspection is a good place to start. We'll check everything, show you what's worn, and give you a clear breakdown before any parts get ordered.

Electronic gremlins are also part of the Jeep ownership experience. TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) issues affect a range of Jeep models and can cause all kinds of strange behavior, from windows not working to the fuel pump acting up. We diagnose before we recommend, so you're not paying for parts that aren't the actual problem.
